Bartimaeus
(Rich Mullins)
Just ten minutes from the city limits
there was a blinded beggar by the road.
His coin cup rattlin' to the rhythm of a crowd a-gatherin'
Around a man on His way through Jericho.
Someone cried out the name "Jesus"!
And, the beggar knew quite well the name.
He'd heard this man had come to lead us into life.
And, that He was God, or at least that's what He'd claimed.
And, that's what He claims!
Bartimaeus, there's no need to be afraid of someone you can't see
If you know He can give you sight.
We are blind brothers.
Well, we.. we too, have discovered
That you turn to Him. And, He turns then.
And, in Him you find life.
So this blind man, he started cryin',
"Son of David! Lord, that You'd draw near!"
Someone said, "Keep him quiet!" But, he had caught the Savior's eye
It was his faith that made this man on his way through to hear.
Jesus said, "Just tell me what you need?"
And, the blind man made his way through the people.
He said, "Lord, I am blind and I just.. I just want to see!"
And, the Master said, "Your faith has made you whole!"
Faith can make you whole!
You know, Bartimaeus, there's no need to be afraid of someone you can't see
If you know He can give you sight.
We are blind brothers. Well, we.. we too, have discovered
That you turn to Him, He turns then.
And, in Him you'll find life.
